A day in the life of my pets: Athena, an Australian cattle dog mix, sits on my brother's bed. She likes to wait for him while he does his school zoom meetings, hoping for some attention when he is finished.
Winnie, a siamese snow shoe, sits in the upstairs living room; though she won't be there for long. She likes to run around and cause all sorts of trouble around the house.
Winnie decides she'll stick around as long as she gets pets. But be warned...she'll turn on you at any moment...with no remorse.
Winnie likes her pets on her own terms. Most of the time, she just wants you to stick your hand out so she can rub against it. If you try anything else, be prepared to lose a finger or two.
Melba, a chihuahua mix, sees that Athena is getting ready to go on a walk with her owner. This photo might make it seem like she wants to come, but when you pull her leash she'll run and hide under the dining room table.
Fallon, a chihuahua mix, sniffs the camera intensely. She's kind of a scaredy dog, not fond of bright lights, vacuums, the cat, and apparently cameras.
Athena waits for Dad to come home. When we got her from the shelter they told us that she prefers older males because of her relationship with her previous owners. My dad has taken over the role as "her person."
Athena waits some more. This time, looking off into the distance longingly. Maybe this will get Dad to come home faster?
Melba gets a drink of water. With three dogs, that bowl gets refilled a million times per day.
Athena takes a nap on the couch. For such an exuberant, playful dog she definitely sleeps a lot!
Athena eats dinner! The chihuahuas and her are separated at dinner time because they will attack her for the food. She is a gentle giant, though.
Fallon assists me with my homework. She loves to lap sit and paws at you until you give your utmost attention to her.
Fallon sits on the couch with Mom at the end of the night after a long, hard day of doing nothing. Where does she find the time?
Fallon sneezes during her photo op. Kind of unprofessional?
Athena gazes into the camera and (probably) melts your heart. She has been the greatest addition to my family!
